New Year - Any hair resolutions?

HELLO everyone!

I definitely won't be making an entry everyday, but I had something to add about today, which will probably give me a break for the next week... Well a hair break. I did the unthinkable... I took the risk, YES, I hot combed my hair! I couldn't take it anymore, I needed a break, especially since I am out of town next weekend, I didn't want to spend my time re-twisting/re-braiding and moisturizing hair. No sir! Mommy needed a BREAK. So, I straightened my hair and let me tell you... I do NOT regret it and I am HAPPY! I was swinging that hair all proud. I will try and post a picture, but after 5 months, it has reached a LITTLE past my neck. I also cut it a bit because my ends were a mess...! I was so sad. AH! Black women and their hair.
OH WELL, all this to say that I have used heat on my hair and next time it is wet, I will track the damage (hopefully it will be to a minimum). Any tips on what to do when your natural hair is straight? Please comment and share!

Today, is New Year's Eve, and every year, people make a bunch of resolutions and objectives they would like to accomplish in the new upcoming year. I thought it might be fun to make some

"Hair Resolutions":

1. I will be patient with my hair... Yes, because honestly, I tend to be very impatient and tug at it, pull at it... swear at it :$! In that case...
2. I will be gentle with my hair.
3. I will find a good detangling method for myself.
4. I will accept my hair and what it can and can not do.

5. I will stick to one specific regimen.

6. I will master a quick and efficient night time routine.
7. I will rock bad hair days like it was intentional.
8. I will really take the time to learn more about my hair.
9. I will not get discouraged/or give up.

10. I will love my hair!

There we go! These are my resolutions... I know it wont be easy... But I will give it try.

Now its your turn, tell me what will your New Year Hair Resolutions be?

On that note, Happy New Year and see you in 2013! xo

*INTRODUCTION: New Natural Hair Blogger*

I would like to invite the Natural world to come on this journey with me. I would like to welcome you to Kinkz n' Curlz Problemz... Because we ALL know we have some! What makes this natural hair blog different from all the other blogs in the Natural Community? The fact that I am going to TAKE you on this journey with me and I am actually reaching out to YOU for your help and your expertise and some tips!
Let me start by introducing myself! My name is Mel and I am 20 years old. For the longest time, I have been contemplating going natural and I finally did it this past July 2012. I had been transitioning for what I think was a good 8-9 months, so when I BC-ed, I had a few inches of hair on my head to work with.

Then, the real obsession began... I have seen hundreds of YouTube videos, I am STILL searching blogs religiously on the new detangling method, the new washing method, day time routines, night time routines, daily regimens, weekly regimens, styling, and much much more... The worst part of it all, is that I am a HUGE product junkie. I have bought everything and just recently, I have decided to calm down. I thought: "This must come to an end". And that is why I have started my own blog. The objective of this blog is to help EVERYONE out there who has just become natural to see that it is really not as easy at is seems. I will track my own journey and the impact it is having on me physically and emotionally.I have thought of relaxing my hair SO many times, telling myself that I had made a BIG mistake, but for some reason, I am not giving up! I would like you to not give up either. I really encourage you to interact with me because I am NO expert, not a professional hairstylist or anything. I am just a regular person trying to learn and work with the kinks and curls coming out of my head!
What do you say?

I'll be posting soon - Ciao xo
